  • Recently Cho was explained on facebook about Padme the following:

    LaShonda A.
Hey Clove & Sherley! Great job on the podcast. Regarding Star Wars-Padme started in Epi 1 as Queen Amidala, but Queen was much like President is in the US-you have a limited # of terms and then you are done. It isn't a royalty you are born into. Her given name was Padme, so when her term as queen ended she joined the Senate as Senator Amidala in Epi 2. And yes, I'm one of the few that is both a Star Wars and a Trekkie!

By the word itself, do you mean what the 'war' is in Star Wars?
The main war is between the Republic (good, yay) and the Empire (bad, boo).
The first three chronological movies (Phantom Menace, Clone Wars, Revenge of the Sith) begin with the Republic and end with the forces of the Empire succeeding in defeating the Republic and establishing a dictatorship under Emperor Palapatine and Darth Vader. The last three chronological movies (New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi) begin with the Empire in power and end with the small Republic forces led by Luke Skywalker defeating the Empire.
