I remember when I first moved to Vancouver I lived in the West End. It's the gay area of Vancouver, similar to Church and Welsley in Toronto.
I have to admit it weirded me out at first but eventually I grew to love it. There was always something going on, the streets were safe.
There was a gay club that played good house music, something you couldn't find in the mainstream clubs in the early 90s. I was convinced to go by a couple of gay friends and they assured me I'd love it.
It took a bit to get over all the gayness but once my friends pointed out how many hot straight women were in the club, I was cool with it all.
